I style my daughter's hair I noticed recently that YouTube didn't really have much to offer around hairstyling for babies so I just wanted to offer my two cents and of course this is not an everyday thing this is just how I style Anne's hair when we do go out first things first I like to stay really organized I keep all of my favourite products for Anne in her closet on a shelf and I have a special drawer for all of her hair bows and ties and all of her accessories the most important thing is for Anne to feel comfortable so I like to allow her to move about freely by putting her in her favourite high chair I like to make sure that she has something to play with and that way we both don't feel like this is a daunting task Ann Teer has been growing a little bit so I've been experimenting with little ponytails.

I like to use these elastic bands because they are gentle and easy to remove and my favourite products for her right now are these Eaton Body Works kids Koko Shay products I'm starting on clean hair with this very natural leave-in detangler this stuff does a really good job at moistening the hair and making it more manageable next I like to apply a thick buttery product to really coat Anne's hair and make her curls pop so I'm using this very curly cream for that I'm gonna use a gel on her hair later but if you're not into gels I would definitely say this product has a good enough hold you don't even need it so after I very gently worked the product in with my hands I'm gonna reach for my safety.

first, brush and comb set this stuff is very gentle on her hair and scalp so I'm more than comfortable using it for today's look I'm just gonna do some simple classic ponytails I'm gonna start by separating the hair at the crown by putting in this light little part and then I'm going to add the gel that I was telling you guys about this is the very natural smoothing gel it's so good you guys not only does it make her curls pop but this gel is really good for laying down those little stubborn hairs that just kind of want to stick up this will really create like that really sleek look for any baby this gel does not get hard or crunchy.

which I love and it really just helps me gather the hair into a ponytail where I normally would not be able to so it really just lays those hairs down and makes everything look sleek and smooth and polished and to keep things super gentle for Anne I normally just brush her hair and I won't Coleman until I get the hair secured into a ponytail and speaking of gentle I keep the hair ties pretty loose I usually only loop them around like maybe three times just enough to kind of stay in place but I don't want to create any tension on her edges or anything because when we were growing up those were kind of the mistakes that our moms and grandmas were making on our hair I did not want that to be the case with Anne and these hair ties really are super easy to remove.

I mean when it's time to take them off they just slide down the hair so all I'm doing is applying that gel to her hair brushing it putting it into the ponytail and then combing the ends just repeating these steps all over from start to finish you guys this usually takes me about 7 to 10 minutes I try not to drag it out and make an get fussy or frustrated so I try to keep it quick and now I'm probably lame but I give her hugs and kisses throughout the process too and the final step to this hair styling process and also to add that final aesthetic is to brush off the baby hairs and I do this all around the perimeter of her hair even in the back and for me this just helps to further relieve any tension and we are all done.

sometimes as a finishing touch I'll my favourite ones I got it from Nordstrom it's super soft and flexible and it's not gonna irritate her or aggravate her and I love that it's made of a really soft breathable material of all the headbands that I've tried these are my absolute favourite they grow with the baby they come in all different colours and I think these are available online so that's it and it's finally all set I did include some footage of her playing in her room you guys I just really enjoy styling and hair I just must say it's bonding time for us and it kind of reminds me of when I was little growing up getting my hair styled by my mom and my grandma so I would not trade these moments for the world I just think it's our responsibility to take some of the things that we know to improve some of those processes because it can be safe and gentle to style a baby's hair and it's just the cutest thing so I hope you guys enjoyed.
